The Eagles Academy” (TEA) and its Life Management Male Empowerment Programs (LMMEP) for expelled and suspended males respectively. The goals of these programs are to reduce the aggressive and negative behaviours in young males enabling them to positively interact and socialize; to empower young males with life management skills which will allow them to build character and solid values consequently, encouraging self-esteem and boosting morale; to empower males to complete their high school education and to encourage participants to become productive citizens.
Our Program objectivesinclude ensuring that a minimum of two-hundred (200) “At-Risk” males complete and graduate from high school; attain competency in two foundational skill areas: Reading & Math: learn to manage anger and resolve conflict; build self-confidence and positive social values; are inspired and learn to have an appreciation and respect for authority; receive soft skills for the job market and change attitudes from negative to positive. After the pilot phase of the program has been completed, we are committed to phasing in access to our organization’s other programs.
The Life Management Male Empowerment Program (LMMEP) is an intervention strategy designed to encourage and support young male students to maintain academic/vocational success in schools. Research has proven that disadvantage, disorganization and dysfunctional in the lives of teens and their environments (especially males) can lead to long-term or even life-long consequences. Students from these types of background are seven times as likely to drop out of school, which increases the rate of involvement in high-risk behaviors such as crime, substance abuse, premature sexual activity, gang involvement, incarceration and possible suicide.
Based on recent statistical reports, at-risk individuals are characterized with the following labels:
- Disadvantaged
- Underachiever

- Low Ability
- Slow Learner
- Low Socioeconomic Status
- Alienated
- Bully
- Underprivileged
- Language Impaired
- Disrespectful to Authority
- Remedial

- Disruptive Behavior (Fighting in class)
- Stealing and Smoking Marijuana, etc.
However, regardless of the label used to categorize persons from special population, many of these individuals (particularly males) are at risk of not succeeding in our educational institutions.
Lawrence Beymer, author of Meeting the Guidance and Counseling Needs of Boys sites that, 85% of participants who are in programs for learning disabilities, educable mentally retarded and behavior disorders are boys. Hyperactivity is diagnosed 95% more often in boys. They are more restless, impulsive and distracted; and are more likely, in later life, to be arrested, have felony convictions and serve time in prison.
Life Management Male Empowerment Program will consist of the following components:
- Core Curriculum (Reading & Math)
- Vocational Trades (Automechanics, Electronics, Maritime, Fishing, Plumbing, Masonry and Cooking)
- L.E.A.D. (real men talk on Leadership, Esteem, Ability and Discipline)
- Drills
Our Purpose:
To develop, implement and evaluate a Life Management Male Empowerment Program for twenty four (24) weeks targeting a select group of “at-risks” males between the ages of 12 - 16.
To establish on-going partnership with The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Ministry of Education and the Guidance Department in various schools
Our Goal:
To reduce the aggressive and negative behaviors in young males enabling them to positively interact and socialize;
To empower young males with life mangement skills. This will allow them to build character and solid values. Consequently, encouraging self-esteem and boosting morale;
To encourage participants to become productive citizens.
Our Objective:
To stimulate learners to complete and graduate from high school

To manage anger and resolve conflicts
To build self-confidence and positive values in participants
To inspire an appreciation and respect for authority
